Biography

After almost 40 years of trial practice, 10 of which have included service as a mediator and arbitrator, veteran trial lawyer Phillip Aurbach recently joined Advanced Resolution Management and is available for mediations and arbitrations. A Las Vegas native, he began his career in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office and also held positions with several local law firms. In 1987, he became a partner in the firm of Lehman & Aurbach, which later became Marquis Aurbach & Coffing, for which he is best known. Phil has developed a reputation as an accomplished and prominent business litigation attorney, having arbitrated and litigated numerous jury and bench civil cases. Some of which include several corporate and partnership dissolution and receivership cases as well as a $5 million breach of contract award after a 22-day arbitration on behalf of a health care provider against an HMO.

Building off of his extensive litigation experience, as well as his training through the nationally acclaimed Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine Law School and the American Arbitration Association, Phil assists parties in resolving complex and often contentious civil disputes. His experience includes serving both as a mediator and arbitrator on cases involving thousands of dollars to multimillion-dollar contracts, often times involving partnership/corporation dissolutions and business/commercial cases. He also has experience with construction, employment, personal injury and real estate matters. As an arbitrator, he has strong evaluation skills and has a reputation for being both fair and impartial. Phil truly manages the arbitration process, effectively moving the case along in an effort to help avoid unreasonable cost and delay. As a mediator, he is best known for his persistence, personality and ability to connect with the parties. Phil strives to reach a resolution on each case and will follow up with the parties for as long as it will take to obtain a settlement.
